Reportedly, Max Muscle Sports Nutrition has proven a leader in this sector, opening stores in record numbers in 2009 and boasting 29 new stores already in construction for 2010.
Max Muscle gained a lot of publicity earlier this year following Food & Drug Administration and Drug Enforcement Agency crackdowns on the quality of nutrition supplements. Both organizations spotlighted Max Muscle for its "Good Manufacturing Practices," following which both franchise-unit and in-store sales climbed.
Experts say the sports nutrition and weight loss industry is projected to grow at a rate of $1.3 to $1.9 billion per year over the next five years.
